MANHATTAN FARMS SEEDS

This envelope contains 5 seed packages, one of each variety pictured and a pamphlet about this flower collection.  The box also contains a 32 page "Short Course in City Gardening" booklet.

Hollyhock Our variety, Indian Spring, is an old fashioned single flowered type. It often blooms in its first year in all ranges of pinks. Whole flowers make lovely bowls for dips and can be used as a lettuce like layer in sandwiches. Grows 4-7 feet tall. Minimum Container Size — Needs to be 12-24 inches deep.

Lemon Gems This small marigold has a lemony flavour. The plants make mounds of profuse flowers and foliage and are great in the garden, in soups and salads. Grows 10-12 inches tall. Minimum Container Size — One plant per 6 inch pot.  

Bergamot This variety is also known as Lemon Mint. It has been used as a tea and its flowers are delicious. Grows 30 inches tall. Minimum Container Size — 1-2 gallon container per 2-3 plants.  

Cornflower A classic in the cottage garden, these mild flavoured plants brighten salads and butters. Grows 18 inches tall. Minimum Container Size — One plant per 6 inch pot. 

Dianthus Also known as pinks these carnation family members bring a floral clove-like flavour that works well in sweets. Grows 12 inches tall. Minimum Container Size — One plant per 6 inch pot.
